Letting go and surrender to the partner does not mean letting go of responsibilities. Most noteworthy is developing awareness for yourself. Awareness for your own body, coordination and balance.
Also, misunderstandings between partners often lead to disharmony. This happens when dancers have a wrong interpretation of their specific role.

Beginner Level – Ladies Tango Techniques
1. Posture, Balance, Embrace and Connection
First of all, let’s get started with the fundamentals. Discover your body, get aware of your weakness and strength. Understand to work on unfortunate habits and learn to embellish your strength.
While discussing posture and balance, you will explore the importance of two essential elements in tango, the zero position and weight changing.
Furthermore, we experience a connection in the open and close embrace.
2. The Walk
The walk is the most important part of tango dancing. The first element is the open step. A link to open and close a figure.
In addition, we will follow on with simple tango walking. Linear to the front and back. While exercising, you will learn to apply the walk to different timings in Tango, regular beat and the slow beat. Most importantly you will learn about the differences in the tango walk compared to normal walking.
Finally, I introduce you to a new element, the cross. Students will learn all secrets about this fundamental element of tango dancing.
3. Pivots with Ease
This topic focuses on the pivot as a tool for changing directions.
While we learn to pivot properly, we understand why and where to use the pivot with different techniques. Furthermore, we discuss the basics of front and back ochos in detail. The ocho is the most frequent element for the follower. We will put our main emphasis in front and back ochos in this class.

4. The Giro
The giro is an element where different interpretations and techniques apply.
The giro is the only exception, where the follower has to remember the sequence. Therefore it is important to absorb the matrix of tango well.
Frequently used in all styles of tango dancing, the giro serves as a specific element in the vals.
Regardless of whether it is Tango, Vals or Milonga, the giro demands special attention.
5. First Embellishments
Embellishments are a dream for all tangueras. This workshop is a bonus class after passing the first 4 topics. In addition, the students will learn clean interpretations of planeos with different variations.
Furthermore, ladies will get to know the basic introduction to voleos on the floor.
First of all, we observe more closely the cross as an embellishment. From here, we develop the movement into a voleo on the floor. Finally, we understand the evolution of the voleo in dynamic.
Intermediate-Advanced Level – Ladies Tango Techniques
6. Graceful Legs
Finally, we practice all tango movements to different rhythms in the music.
Most of all we will discuss the walk elaborately step by step. Further, we will practice Ocho combinations with embellishments and voleos/ganchos in different styles.
We will exercise the fundamental milonguero style element “ocho cortado” especially relevant, with different musicality.
Finally, the repetitions of correct application are the secret of any elegant dancer.
Students for this class shall have passed the basic classes 1-5 of my Ladies Tango Techniques program.
